Kayla Bettis-Weber, LCSW

Kayla Bettis-Weber is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Certified Addiction Counselor.  She began her education in Wisconsin within a widely recognized social work program that included the opportunity to treat individuals with severe psychiatric disorders in an acute hospital setting.  She also began working with the homeless population, which ignited a passion that is still active today.  Upon graduation with her bachelor's degree in social work, she relocated to Missouri where she completed an accelerated graduate school program and earned her Masters in Social Work. She secured employment within a local community mental health center, working with adults seeking services for mental health or substance use disorders.  This included facilitating a domestic violence program.  After five years of employment and the completion of her husband's degree, the duo relocated to Colorado Springs.  Kayla worked for four years at a psychotherapist group practice, providing individual and group therapy to all ages  - including working with families in crisis.  She also developed and led a Dialectical Behavioral Therapy program to treat adolescents with high-risk behaviors to include self-harm.

Kayla uses several modalities when working with children and adolescents including behavioral analysis, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction.  She also incorporates client-directed play and art into her work.  When working with a family unit, she strikes a delicate balance in collaborating strongly with parents and yet allows the child to experience a sense of independence and mastery within the therapeutic process.

Kayla and her husband relocated to Wheat Ridge in 2017.  Kayla is employed by Jefferson Center for Mental Health.  She is excited to be part of the efforts to integrate behavioral health and primary care at Denver West Pediatrics!

Kayla is in the office Wednesdays and Thursdays.
