Sarah Mog, LPC & LAC

Sarah Mog is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Licensed Addictions Counselor (LAC).  She was born and raised in Huntsville, Alabama and has called Colorado "home" for the past 8 years.  She earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Alabama in Huntsville and her master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Denver Seminary.  Sarah pursued her internship with youth aged 5-21 and their families in both a private practice setting and in a transitional housing program working with homeless families.  Since graduation, Sarah has worked extensively with youth who have experienced trauma and other mental health issues that have severely affected their lives, including family conflict, school issues, substance use, legal involvement, and youth placed out of the home.  She is passionate about holistic healing and getting creative with clients so they can experience healing in the way that is most comfortable and authentic for them.

Sarah is comfortable in a number of therapeutic modalities to support each individual client's needs, including play therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy, AF-CBT (Alternatives for Families: A Cognitive Behavior Therapy), and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing).  In addition, she utilizes interventions that include writing, art, music, and yoga.

Sarah values the role of "advocate" for youth's needs, including giving the youth a sense of ownership and mastery in the therapeutic process.  When possible, Sarah also collaborates with parents and other family members to support the youth, resolve conflict and/or rebuild a unified family unit.

Sarah enjoys physical activity and spending time in nature, so she will often be found on the weekends hiking in the mountains with her dog and friends.  She also loves traveling - exploring new places, meeting new people, and learning new perspectives.

Sarah is employed by Jefferson Center for Mental Health.  She is excited to work with Denver West Pediatrics in the efforts to integrate mental health and primary care treatment.

Sarah is in the office on Mondays and Fridays.
